About
No one could have anticipated what lay before us last March 2020, but what has emerged from the current graduating class is deep resolve, resilience, dedication and compassion towards themselves and each other. The fertility of the imagination is embodied in our students and has guided their work. Many of them have been faced with the greatest challenges of their lives and many of them have found solace and relief in their creativity.
The work of the MA Painting 2021 graduates is diverse in its themes and material approaches yet one thread connects them all: the passage of time. Time and the capturing of time in the work of our graduates encapsulates the experience of this past year. Collective memories abound and are forever embedded and marked by this period. One can only hope that the changes fueled by this shared experience are embraced and forever change us all for the better.
